Home Selling Plans In 2023?

It is understandable many people are waiting to see how the first weeks and months of 2023 pan out before committing to a major decision.

A new review into the UK housing market sector found 79% of homeowners saying the current cost-of-living crisis has changed their forthcoming plans in the market. Only 24% of respondents said they are keen to list their home for sale and buy another in 2023 while 55% of respondents said they will not list their home for sale in winter, waiting until spring before making this decision.

Tom Greenacre is a managing director in the property sector, and he said: “It’s understandable that people are nervous about the cost of selling their home and moving house given the cost-of-living crisis – but they don’t have to be. Buying a new home in a cheaper area or downsizing where children may have left home, for example, might leave you better off. And listing now, or very early in the New Year, could mean that you beat the crowd.”

We can help you steal a march on rivals

Of course, there is demand for homes, and there is a lot to be said for taking steps to get ahead of vendors currently holding off.

Hire a Professional Home Stager

One of the best ways to create attention for your home when you sell it is to hire a professional home stager. Home stagers are professionals who specialize in making homes look their best for potential buyers. They will often rent furniture and accessories from staging companies and bring them into your home to make it look more appealing. In many cases, hiring a professional home stager can help you to sell your home more quickly and for a higher price.

Make Sure the Exterior of Your Home Is Appealing

Another way to create attention for your home when you sell it is to make sure the exterior of your home is appealing. This means making sure the landscaping is well-groomed, the paint is fresh, and the gutters are clean. First impressions are very important, so if potential buyers drive by your home and it looks unkempt, they may not even bother scheduling a showing.

Advertise Your Home Online

In today’s market, it’s important to advertise your home online. There are numerous websites that allow you to list your home for sale, and many potential buyers begin their search for a new home online. Be sure to take high-quality photos of your home and write an appealing description that will entice buyers to schedule a showing.

Price Your Home Competitively

If you want to generate interest in your home, it’s important to price it competitively. Buyers will be comparing your asking price with other homes on the market, so if yours is significantly higher, they may not even bother looking at it. Work with your real estate agent to come up with a competitive asking price that will attract buyers without pricing yourself out of the market.

As skilled and experienced estate agents, we have a wide variety of techniques and practices to help you better connect with willing buyers. If you are looking to beat the rush and place your house onto the market as soon as possible, we are here for you.
